KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 1): The police has classified alleged death threats purportedly made against rapper Caprice by two individuals as “no further action” (NFA).
The two men, who Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, 39, said had made the death threats against him are Datuk R Jeyenderan, the CEO of Maritime Network Sdn Bhd, and high-performance transformation coach Syed Mohammad Murad Syed Naseem, better known as Murad "Baddestcoach" Zaidi.
Both men were investigated by the police under Section 507 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation by anonymous communication.
A letter by Shah Alam Criminal Investigation Department chief Faizal Salleh to their lawyer Aizzat Mustafa, and sighted by The Edge, stated that the Selangor deputy public prosecutor had decided to classify the case as requiring no further action, after receiving the investigation papers from the police.
Faizal also said that all items taken from Jeyenderan and Syed Murad would be returned to them.
Caprice had lodged a police report on July 10, saying that he received threatening messages via Instagram and had named the two men.
In July this year, Caprice had made several Instagram posts, including photos and videos of Jeyenderan, that allegedly linked the businessman to various criminal activities without credible evidence.
Jeyenderan had filed a defamation suit, claiming the posts damaged his reputation as a global shipping and maritime expert and that the posts had resulted in RM1 million in losses from lost contracts. He sought RM3 million in damages and an injunction to stop further defamatory statements.
The High Court granted an inter partes injunction in favour of Jeyenderan, ordering Caprice to remove/archive the defamatory posts and refrain from making further statements. Caprice was also ordered to pay RM8,000 in costs.
