KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 1): Oil and gas services provider T7 Global Bhd (KL:T7GLOBAL) announced changes in its leadership team with the appointment of Azman Yakim as its new group chief executive officer.

According to a statement on Monday, his predecessor Tan Kay Zhuin, who held the position for three years, was redesignated as an executive director.

“This leadership change reflects the board’s commitment to ensuring effective stewardship and continuity as the group progresses into its next phase of development,” said executive chairman Tan Sri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani.

According to the group, Azman brings over 25 years of industry experience, with previous senior positions at Siemens, General Electric, Dresser-Rand, and Emerson. He joined T7 Global in 2019 as the CEO of the group’s wholly-owned unit Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd and currently leads the group’s energy division, which includes the upstream oil and gas value chain.

His background in operational management, process optimisation, and business transformation is expected to support the group’s efforts to strengthen performance and enhance value creation, says T7 Global.

Tan, who joined the group in 2016, was credited with strengthening the group’s operational base and broadening its portfolio. He expanded the energy division’s service capabilities, developed in-house offshore assets, and spearheaded diversification into industrial solutions, which the group said supported its revenue and profit growth in recent years.

Besides Tan’s redesignation, T7 Global experienced another leadership change early this year in April as its previous executive deputy chairman Tan Sri Tan Kean Soon tendered his resignation, which led to its major shareholder Nik Norzrul to steer the company.

Shares of T7 Global were unchanged at 30 sen on Monday’s noon break, valuing the group at RM270.9 million.
