KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 28): Computer mainframe systems firm Infomina Bhd (KL:INFOM) has secured a US$19.04 million (approximately RM79.2 million) purchase order (PO) from Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank) in the Philippines for the provision of technology application and infrastructure operations, maintenance and support services.
In a bourse filing on Friday, the group said its 99.95%-owned subsidiary Infomina Philippines Inc had accepted the purchase order, which is a two-year contract that runs from Jan 1, 2026 to Dec 31, 2027.
Infomina Philippines will assist Metrobank in renewing licence subscriptions, providing training to staff, and supplying the necessary fixes and manuals required for installation and operations.
The scope also includes assessing and monitoring Metrobank’s software environment to ensure it remains updated with the latest supported versions.
Infomina Philippines will further provide online and offline support, periodical software maintenance, ad-hoc technical and repair services, as well as consumption and utilisation monitoring and reporting.
Infomina said the contract value will be invoiced progressively over the duration of the agreement, while any renewal after 2027 will be subject to fresh negotiations with the bank.
The announcement comes as Infomina continues to manage ongoing litigation involving its Philippine operations.
Infomina Philippines is currently facing a RM225.67 million counterclaim from the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), after the subsidiary sued the bank over an alleged wrongful termination of a software agreement in 2021.
The counterclaim includes a three billion Philippine pesos (RM212.66 million) demand for exemplary damages, 173.48 million Philippine pesos (RM12.3 million) as a refund of fees, and 10 million Philippine pesos (RM710,000) for legal costs.
BPI is also seeking to add Infomina Philippines’ board of directors and Infomina chief technology officer Siow Liew Fei as defendants.
Infomina previously said it remains confident in its claims and defences, including against what it described as an “unprecedented” exemplary damages demand.
Shares of Infomina ended four sen or 2.84% higher at RM1.45 on Friday, valuing the company at RM871.8 million. The counter has gained over 5% year to date.
