KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 25): Hong Leong Industries Bhd (KL:HLIND) posted a new record high quarterly net profit on Tuesday on increased sales amid stronger demand for motorcycles.
Net profit for the group's first quarter ended Sept 30, 2025 (1QFY2026) rose 10.2% to RM154.89 million from RM140.56 million a year earlier, the group said in a bourse filing, adding that the better performance was also due to lower raw material costs arising from favourable foreign exchange movements.
Quarterly revenue climbed 5.8% to RM983.38 million from RM929.75 million, underpinned by the robust demand for motorcycles.
In line with the stronger results, the group declared a dividend of 30 sen per share, up from 25 sen per share a year earlier. The dividend is payable on Dec 23.
On prospects, Hong Leong Industries said market fundamentals remain stable, with motorcycle demand expected to stay healthy. The group will continue to optimise its sales mix and pursue structural cost efficiencies to strengthen its competitive edge.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, the group expects to deliver a satisfactory performance for FY2026.
Shares in Hong Leong Industries closed eight sen, or 0.6%, lower at RM14.34, valuing the group at RM4.7 billion. Year to date, the stock has remained largely unchanged.
