KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 25): Leong Hup International Bhd’s (KL:LHI) third-quarter net profit fell 4.35% from a year earlier due to lower other income.

Net profit in the three months ended Sept 30, 2025 (3QFY2025) was RM129.14 million, compared with RM135.02 million in the same quarter last year, according to the group’s bourse filing.

Other income came in at RM24.17 million in 3QFY2025, down 41% year-on-year (y-o-y) from RM40.91 million in 3QFY2024. The segment records changes in fair value of financial assets and equity investments as well as dividends from such investments.

Earnings per share (EPS) stood at 3.62 sen in the quarter, down from 3.7 sen in 3QFY2024.

Quarterly revenue inched down marginally by 0.83% to RM2.21 billion from RM2.23 billion, as revenue for its feed mill segment fell 8.1% during the quarter to RM839.88 million.

This was due to the effect of foreign currency translation, which affected markets in which it has presence, namely Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

“Excluding the effect from foreign currency translations, revenue for the segment was marginally higher by 0.01% compared to the same quarter last year,” it noted.

For the nine months ended September (9MFY2025), Leong Hup's net profit rose 11.5% to RM321.23 million from RM288.09 million in 9MFY2024, though revenue dropped 6.29% to RM6.55 billion from RM6.99 billion.

The group did not declare any dividend for the latest quarter. Year to date, the group has paid a dividend of one sen, lower than 2.75 sen paid in the same period of last year.

Looking ahead, the group said it remains cautiously optimistic as the opportunity for growth in chicken and egg consumption per capita remains high in the countries where it operates, coupled with a stable outlook on feed input costs.

Leong Hup's share price settled unchanged at 62 sen on Tuesday, valuing the group at RM2.26 billion.
