KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 24): Semico Capital Bhd, a family entertainment and toys-and-collectibles company, has signed its initial public offering (IPO) underwriting agreement with Affin Hwang Investment Bank ahead of its ACE Market debut on Bursa Malaysia.

Affin Hwang will underwrite 33 million shares allocated to the public and pink form applicants, as part of an IPO consisting of 92.7 million new shares and 18 million existing shares.

The public issue of new shares represents 25.7% of the enlarged issued share capital, while the offer for sale represents 5.0%, according to a statement.

Semico Capital executive director cum chief executive officer Tai Lee Chuen said the company was founded on the belief that play strengthens family moments and creates lasting memories.

Through the IPO, it plans to grow its arcade and amusement machine supply business, upgrade its machines to match changing consumer trends, and expand its toys and collectibles range. It also aims to grow its team to support future expansion.

Semico Capital, a family entertainment and the wholesale of toys and collectibles provider, which supplies arcade and amusement machines, operates a family entertainment centre at The Mines in Selangor.

The company holds distributorships for brands such as Superwing, Dreamfuns and Pop Mart, and holds authorised distributorships for other brands such as ACE Amusement, UNIS and Jakar. These collaborations underpin the group’s nationwide footprint.

According to an independent market report by Protégé Associates Sdn Bhd, the family entertainment centres and edutainment centres market in Malaysia is projected to reach RM1.93 billion by 2029, representing a compound annual growth rate of 9.5%.

Semico Capital is scheduled to list on the ACE Market by January 2026. Affin Hwang serves as the principal adviser, sponsor, sole placement agent and sole underwriter for the IPO exercise.
