KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 19): Aquawalk Group Bhd (KL:AQUAWALK) is eyeing a potential increase in ticket prices at its flagship in Aquaria KLCC, following the completion of its new penguin exhibit, expected in the second half of 2026.

The group said any future pricing changes would be designed to reflect enhancements to the visitor experience, including educational and entertainment offerings.

“We do try and make sure that all our guests and visitors have a very good value for money.

“Meaning that when they come to visit our aquariums, they get a strong experience, both educational, as well as in terms of enrichment and entertainment,” said Aquawalk group chief executive officer Daryl Foong during the press conference post-listing.

He added, referring to potential ticket price changes, “Yes, there is a lot of opportunity for us to realise the value that Aquaria KLCC provides in particular.”

The remarks come after analysts at Apex Securities initiated coverage with a “buy” call on Aquawalk ahead of its listing and noted untapped pricing potential at Aquaria KLCC, as it is one of its key drivers for earnings upside.

The group remarked that incentives offered by the government to promote theme parks and aquariums as part of Visit Malaysia 2026 would strengthen its overall performance.

Currently, international guests contribute 15%-20% to Aquaria KLCC's topline.

In its financial quarter ended Sept 30, 2025 (3QFY2025), Aquawalk recorded a revenue of 82.5% to RM29.6 million, which was supported by higher ticket sales and visitorship in its Kuala Lumpur flagship, as well as its Phuket branch. Its gross profit margin came in at 62% to RM18.3 million for the quarter.

The group has plans to expand and upgrade its aquariums, including a renovated aviary and seal tanks in its Phuket branch, and new aquariums slated for Surabaya, Indonesia, and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, slated for completion in 2027 and 2028 respectively.

Aquawalk is also pursuing conservation initiatives, such as coral restoration in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and shark-release programmes in Phuket, which Foong said could contribute to its broader value proposition and support its long-term strategy.
