KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 14): CSC Steel Holdings Bhd (KL:CSCSTEL) posted its highest quarterly net profit in three years, as lower raw material costs and a stronger ringgit helped offset weaker revenue caused by lower global steel prices.

Net profit for the three months ended Sept 30, 2025 (3QFY2025) tripled to RM20.73 million — the highest since 4QFY2021’s RM38.86 million — from RM6.88 million a year earlier, despite a 11.6% drop in revenue to RM357.79 million from RM404.89 million, according to the steel product maker’s bourse filing on Friday.

No dividend was declared for the quarter under review.

On its prospects, CSC Steel said it will remain cautious yet proactive as global steel demand grows, balancing stabilising global prices with rising domestic costs.

Domestic costs are rising due to carbon taxes and energy reforms, but strong government support for infrastructure, industrial decarbonisation and faster anti-dumping measures will help sustain long-term demand and protect the local industry, it added.

The group will focus on cost control, inventory management and operational improvements to stay resilient and seize future opportunities.

For the nine months ended Sept 30, 2025 (9MFY2025), CSC Steel’s net profit more than doubled to RM51.1 million from RM22.81 million in the same period a year earlier, as revenue dropped 10.1% to RM1.05 billion compared with RM1.17 billion.

Shares in CSC Steel ended one sen or 0.85% higher at RM1.18 on Friday, valuing the company at RM448.4 million.
