PETALING JAYA (Nov 13): Samaiden Group Bhd (KL:SAMAIDEN), which builds solar and other renewable energy power plants, has reported an 85.6% jump in net profit for its first financial quarter, bolstered by construction progress on utility-scale solar projects.
Net profit for the three months ended Sept 30, 2025 (1QFY2026) rose to RM6.20 million from RM3.34 million a year earlier, its bourse filing on Thursday showed.
Earnings per share rose to 1.36 sen from 0.80 sen previously.
Quarterly revenue surged 78.4% year-on-year to RM88.11 million from RM49.39 million, with the group attributing the improvement to stronger execution under its engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) segment.
Gross profit more than doubled to RM14.55 million from RM7.88 million, while operating profit increased 128.5% to RM10.97 million from RM4.80 million.
The group’s gross margin improved to 16.51% from 15.95% a year ago, while operating margin expanded to 12.45% from 9.72%.
Finance costs rose 216.0% to RM1.38 million from RM437,000, in line with higher borrowings to support project execution.
Samaiden declared a first interim dividend of 1.4 sen per share, to be paid on Dec 30.
Samaiden’s order book stood at RM617.5 million as of end-September 2025, anchored by projects under the Large-Scale Solar (LSS5 and LSS5+) and Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP).
“The supportive policy environment, including NETR (National Energy Transition Roadmap) and Budget 2026 initiatives, will continue to open new avenues for growth across utility-scale and commercial segments,” said managing director Datuk Chow Pui Hee.
Moving forward, the group expects further growth momentum from the continuing rollout of large-scale solar initiatives under LSS5 and LSS5+, with the planned launch of the LSS6 programme targeting an additional 2GW of capacity.
"The group is also actively pursuing new EPCC opportunities under LSS5+ and other renewable-energy tenders to further strengthen its pipeline," it added.
Samaiden shares closed up one sen or 0.70% at RM1.44 on Thursday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM718.3 million. The stock has risen more than 9% year to date.
