KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 13): Mi Technovation Bhd (KL:MI) posted record net profit for the third quarter, driven by higher sales of semiconductor equipment and material, as well as lower foreign exchange losses.

Its net profit for the three months ended Sept 30, 2025 (3QFY2025) surged to RM35.95 million from a net loss of RM7.2 million a year earlier, on the back of a 67.4% jump in revenue to RM197.06 million compared with RM117.72 million.

Besides strong sales, the group attributed the turnaround to favourable forex movement. For the quarter under review, the group’s net forex losses shrank to RM549,000, compared to RM29.5 million in the same quarter last year.

In addition, Mi Technovation said that improved capacity utilisation and a favourable product mix also helped to boost its earnings. The company declared a second interim dividend of two sen per share, to be paid on Dec 15.

For the first nine months ended Sept 30, 2025 (9MFY2025), net profit climbed 46.5% to RM69.1 million from RM47.17 million in the same period a year earlier, as revenue rose 33.7% to RM470.73 million from RM352.02 million previously.

The group expects the momentum to continue in the fourth quarter of this year as it anticipates a “period of strategic growth and stable performance”, with its semiconductor equipment unit expected to post “double-digit growth” and the semiconductor materials unit to “maintain strong growth”.

“While we remain optimistic, we are mindful of potential headwinds from global macroeconomic volatilities,” it noted.

Shares in Mi Technovation ended one sen or 0.33% higher at RM3.08 on Thursday, valuing the company at RM2.77 billion.
