KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 5): SD Guthrie Bhd (KL:SDG) said on Wednesday its net profit rose 22% in the third quarter from a year earlier thanks largely to land sales and higher downstream sales.
Net profit for the three months ended Sept 30, 2025 (3QFY2025) was RM935.0 million, according to an exchange filing by the world’s largest palm oil producer by acreage.
The company booked RM435 million as its share of a land sale for an industrial park in Negeri Sembilan.
Revenue for the quarter rose 2.7% year-on-year to RM5.41 billion.
No dividend was declared for the quarter under review.
The land sale pertains to the group’s sale of 1,195 acres of its land to Eco Business Park 7 Sdn Bhd, its industrial park joint venture with Eco World Development Group Bhd (KL:ECOWLD) and Negeri Sembilan state agency NS Corporation.
Eco Business Park 7 is 55% owned by EcoWorld, 30% by SD Guthrie, and 15% by NS Corporation.
For the nine months ended Sept 30, 2025 (9MFY2025), SD Guthrie logged a 44.2% rise in net profit to RM2.01 billion from RM1.39 billion in the same period a year earlier, as cumulative revenue increased 5.6% to RM15.4 billion compared with RM14.57 billion.
Crude palm oil prices in the coming weeks will be supported by expectations of tighter supply as the industry enters a seasonally low output cycle, SD Guthrie said in a statement.
Meanwhile, palm oil demand is expected to remain resilient as Indonesia reaffirmed plans to launch its B50 biodiesel mandate, it added.
“The group is optimistic in delivering a strong performance in 2025,” it said, adding that the group will continue progressing with its collaborations to unlock value from its strategic land bank assets.
Shares in SD Guthrie stood one sen or 0.19% lower at RM5.29 at Wednesday's noon break, valuing the group at RM36.58 billion.
