KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 3): Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd (TalentCorp) has appointed Edward Ling as its new group CEO, effective Nov 4.

Ling succeeds Thomas Mathew, who completed his five-year tenure on Monday (Nov 3). Mathew has served as the group CEO since 2020.

In a statement on Monday, TalentCorp said Ling brings over two decades of experience in business transformation, digital innovation and strategic partnerships for multinational companies (MNCs).

“Recognised for bridging corporate expertise with national development priorities, Edward has led initiatives that enhanced cross-sector synergy, digital readiness and workforce competitiveness,” said TalentCorp.

Ling will be responsible for driving Malaysia’s talent transformation agenda through bridging collaborations between industry, government and global stakeholders, TalentCorp said.

Ling’s credentials span from holding leadership positions in LinkedIn, Google, Waze and L’Oréal Malaysia, according to the statement. In academics, he holds a bachelor’s degree in computing from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

On Mathew’s departure, TalentCorp chairperson and Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi said, “He transformed the organisation into a forward-looking, data-driven and financially sustainable agency that plays a central role in shaping Malaysia’s workforce strategy.”

“On behalf of the board, I thank Thomas for his commitment and service," she added.
