KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 30): Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) managed over 9,300 flight movements and 1.4 million passengers, including summit delegations and support personnel, across KL International Airport (KLIA) Terminals 1 and 2 and Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SZB), between Oct 22 and 29, 2025 for the 47th Asean Summit and Related Summits.

A total of 60 special and chartered flights carrying heads of state and delegates were handled through the Bunga Raya Complex (BRC) at KLIA and SZB’s business aviation terminal, with minimal impact on regular operations.

In a statement, MAHB said months of preparation by a core team of 70 officers from 24 units, supported by hundreds of operational staff, ensured seamless facilitation.

In September, MAHB conducted a full-scale emergency drill at the BRC to test the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and strengthen inter-agency coordination.

The exercise tested emergency communication, evacuation procedures and compliance, ensuring full readiness ahead of the event.

During the summit, the Airport Crisis Management Team (ACMT) provided real-time oversight to ensure safety and efficiency.
