KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 27): Fresh off its ACE Market debut, Insights Analytics Bhd (KL:IAB) is accelerating its expansion plans, with new offices and recruitment expected to take place within the next two- to three months.

Managing director Frank Wee said the group’s market opening has given it added confidence to scale its operations in Sarawak and into West Malaysia. The counter had opened at a 72% premium on Monday morning.

“We have already identified areas, places which we could actually expand our office and we will be continuing with that very, very fast and also bringing in more people now to fill our expansion both in Sarawak and West Malaysia,” said Wee.

From its initial public offering (IPO) exercise, Insights Analytics raised RM43.56 million, of which 5.74% was allocated to opening a new branch in Kuching and 2.78% has been allocated to their expansion in Peninsular Malaysia, specifically Selangor and Kelantan.

The bulk of the funds will go towards working capital for the provision of water technology solutions segment, which would fund them for the next two years, according to the company.

Leveraging digital twin solutions to go beyond water sector

Wee added that Insights Analytics is positioning its digital twin and solutions intelligent asset management technologies for broader applications beyond the water sector, extending into areas such as smart cities, ports, telecommunications and energy.

The company recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sarawak Artificial Intelligence Centre Sdn Bhd (SAIC) to jointly develop artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin solutions for key sectors in the state. Under the MOU, Insights Analytics will provide technical expertise, software and intellectual property, and lead commercialisation efforts for both domestic and international markets.

Digital twin solutions are virtual replicas of physical assets, systems or processes that enable users to monitor performance, simulate operations and predict maintenance needs.

Wee noted that the signing “gives us a lot of confidence. It gives us a lot of impetus to move forward. It shows that the Sarawak government is actually looking up to us to drive technology and to go beyond water.”

He also expressed that the announcement drew strong interest from government agencies and private sector players seeking to adopt its technology solutions.

On its unbilled order book of RM35 million, the company plans to pursue projects through proofs of concept and proofs of value to demonstrate the performance of its proprietary systems, which could allow for direct negotiations or tender waivers for specialised technologies.
