KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 24): Hong Kong-based airport lounge operator Plaza Premium Group (PPG), owned by Malaysian entrepreneur Song Hoi-See, has added two new airport lounges at the newly launched Techo International Airport (KTI) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to its growing list of airport lounges in the world.
In a statement, PPG said the opening of its dual brands — Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge — in Phnom Penh marks a significant step in the group’s ongoing expansion in Southeast Asia, further strengthening its hospitality presence.
“The opening of Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge in Phnom Penh reflects the group’s global direction of expanding our award-winning airport hospitality services into key international gateways. KTI represents a critical hub in the region and offers exciting opportunities for PPG, given the airport's expansion plan with two additional runways to be completed in phases, [as well as] passenger capacity expected to reach 45 million by 2050,” PPG regional general manager for Southeast Asia Cavin Loh said.
With a 110-seat capacity, the Plaza Premium First marks the debut of the brand in Cambodia, following successes in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Vancouver and Jakarta.
“The lounge interiors include motifs and aesthetics inspired by Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage. Every detail, from striking decorative elements to carefully curated artwork, is woven into the lounge setting to offer an immersive, evocative environment — ensuring guests are surrounded by comfort, artistry and the unmistakable character of the local culture,” said PPG.
Meanwhile, guests at Plaza Premium Lounge, with a 120-seat capacity, can savour Cambodian signature dishes such as beef lok lak and fish amok, alongside Pursat Orange Juice and Koh Kroubey’s Jasmine Tea, each reflecting the vibrant stories and homegrown specialties of the region, according to PPG.
“Designed as a calm retreat echoing traditional Cambodian aesthetics, the lounge also celebrates the country’s dynamic art scene, in partnership with internationally acclaimed artist Dina Chhan. Her works, featured throughout the lounge, capture the evolving spirit and elegance of modern Cambodia," it added.
With 14 brands under its portfolio, PPG operates in 150 countries across 600 international and domestic airports, and serves 24 million passengers annually.
