
KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 22): Sarawak-based Zecon Bhd’s (KL:ZECON) unit will build and run a 100MW solar plant in Kuching’s Kota Petra Green Technology Park under a 30-year power deal with state utility Syarikat Sesco Bhd.
Zecon Renewables (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd has signed a power purchase agreement with Sesco for the electricity produced from the plant, which is expected to start commercial operation in December 2027.
The company did not reveal the value of the deal.
Zecon’s share price was up 0.97% to 52 sen at noon break, valuing the company at RM79.91 million.
This is the fourth 100MW solar power agreement Sesco has signed this month, following similar deals in Bintulu, Mukah and Tanjung Manis.
Solarvest Holdings Bhd (KL:SLVEST) and Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd (KL:PMETAL), which will jointly develop the plant in Mukah, estimated that the plant would cost RM380 million.
Leader Energy Group Bhd will build the plant in Tanjung Manis while Malakoff Corp Bhd (KL:MALAKOF) will build the one in Bintulu.
