KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 16): Invest Selangor has announced the 21 companies selected for Selangor Life Sciences Accelerator Programme 2025, reaffirming the state’s ambition to become Malaysia’s leading hub for innovation and technology.
The four-month initiative aims to help startups turn scientific research into scalable businesses through mentorship, market access, and investor engagement.
The announcement was made during the programme’s orientation day at VIDA Bukit Ceylon, held in collaboration with NEXEA, a Malaysian Venture Capital and Startup Accelerator firm.
Participants will gain access to funding of up to RM1 million, in-kind benefits from partners, and RM60,000 in cash prizes provided by Invest Selangor.
The selected startups come from different sectors including biotechnology, healthcare, sustainable materials, and agritech.
Among them are PlusVibes, a digital mental-health platform that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) and therapy support; Bioloop Sdn Bhd, which converts organic waste into animal feed; and HealthApps Sdn Bhd — a telehealth platform connecting patients and doctors.
Over the next four months, participants will take part in masterclasses, mentoring sessions, and industry visits, gaining insights from experts and exposure to real-world business environments.
The programme will conclude on Feb 10, 2026 with a Demo Day, where startups will present their progress to investors and corporate partners.
By combining Invest Selangor’s state-level investment networks with NEXEA’s venture ecosystem, the accelerator aims to bridge the gap between research, innovation, and industry.
“As part of Invest Selangor’s mission to strengthen Selangor’s position as Malaysia's leading innovation hub, the Selangor Life Sciences Accelerator (Programme) continues to drive high-impact entrepreneurship, foster industry collaboration, and elevate Selangor’s life sciences ecosystem on both national and regional levels” said Invest Selangor.
Since its establishment in 1999, Invest Selangor has played a central role in attracting high-value investments to the state. To date, it has facilitated more than 6,700 manufacturing projects and secured over RM230 billion in investments, securing job creation and reinforcing Selangor’s reputation as Malaysia’s economic powerhouse.
