KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 15): Coastal Contracts Bhd (KL:COASTAL) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Elite Point Pte Ltd, has secured a RM12.8 million liftboat charter contract.
The new 120-day charter follows the completion of a previous contract on Sept 29, after the charterer opted not to exercise a one-year extension.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Coastal Contracts said the latest agreement includes an optional extension period and is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025 (FY2025) and FY2026.
The group noted that risks associated with the contract are primarily operational and execution-related — typical within the oil and gas sector — and that appropriate risk management measures are in place.
Coastal Contracts added that none of its directors or substantial shareholders have any direct or indirect interest in the new charter, which the board considers to be in the best interest of the company.
At market close on Wednesday, shares in Coastal Contracts settled one sen or 0.8% lower at RM1.19, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM664.9 million. Year to date, the stock has declined 21.7%.
