KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): OpenAI on Thursday announced the launch of ChatGPT Go, a new subscription plan designed to provide users with greater access to ChatGPT’s advanced capabilities at a more affordable price. Malaysia is one of the 16 countries in Asia where ChatGPT Go launches on Thursday.

This subscription plan makes it easier for people to use ChatGPT for their everyday needs — whether it's for “how-to” advice, personal writing, tutoring, self-care guidance or editing. The launch comes amid strong growth adoption of OpenAI’s tools in Malaysia.

Over the past year, the number of weekly active ChatGPT users has grown more than 2.5 times, reflecting strong interest in artificial intelligence (AI) for everyday use.

Priced at RM38.99 per month, ChatGPT Go subscribers will gain access to ChatGPT’s most popular features, including higher message limits, image generation, file uploads and memory, all powered by GPT-5, OpenAI’s most-advanced model.

Compared to the free plan, ChatGPT Go’s message limits, image generations and file or image uploads are increased by 10 times, with memory doubled for more personalised responses.
