KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 28): Subang Jaya Medical Centre’s chief executive officer Bryan Lin, though not a practitioner himself, is a prominent figure in the Malaysian medical scene. He has a sincere concern for patient welfare and an enthusiasm for modernisation. As a child, Lin lost his mother due to a retinal detachment as a complication of other health issues. He now feels as though he was fated to be in this industry. Lin has affirmed that while profit will always be a dominant topic with all companies, SJMC’s approach places patients at its core and puts much of their profits towards investing in technologies and treatments. With Lin’s guidance, SJMC’s core dedication is to keep those who are healthy out of the hospital. 

Local fashion designer Uzair Shoid, the founder of the latest womenswear collection ARUS, recently appeared at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2025 with aquatic-inspired garments. Drawing inspiration from childhood TV shows like Winx Club and Totally Spies!, he produces whimsical compositions defined by their saturated palettes with intricate elements and a connection to local cultural or traditional references. Shoid’s dream is to see people wearing his pieces, to be shown at more fashion weeks and for his work to travel beyond borders.
