KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 18): MClean Technologies (KL:MCLEAN) received an unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia after its shares hit a four-year high on Thursday.
Bursa asked the company to clarify if there was any corporate development, rumour or other reason behind the sharp rise in trading. MClean provides surface treatment, precision cleaning, sterilisation and packaging services for industries like hard disk drives (HDD), consumer electronics, and oil and gas.
MClean shares jumped as much as 13.97% to 53 sen on Thursday before easing to 49 sen at midday, still up 5.38%. The company’s market capitalisation stood at RM120.6 million.
The stock has surged 63% this month and saw 25.52 million shares traded — over 11 times its 200-day average volume — making it the third-most active stock on Bursa.
MClean’s net profit jumped over four times to RM5.89 million for the six months ended June 30, 2025, mainly due to better production efficiency in its precision cleaning and surface treatment services. Revenue also rose to RM32.08 million from RM28.67 million a year earlier.
