KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 10): Pansar Bhd (KL:PANSAR) has clinched another contract from the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR Sarawak), this time valued at RM216.998 million, for design and upgrading works under the Serian-Gedong-Samarahan dual carriageway highway project in the state.
In a filing Wednesday, the Sarawak-based group said the job involves upgrading a 4km stretch of the existing JKR two-lane road between Simpang Gedong Isthmus and Simpang Lubok Teranggas into a four-lane dual carriageway.
The 36-month contract, for Section 2 of Package 1 of the highway project, was awarded to its wholly-owned Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd. Work is scheduled to start this month.
This is the group’s second major win under the same highway project. In January this year, Pansar secured a RM477.69 million contract — also via Perbena Emas — for Package 1, Section 1B.
That earlier job involved building an 8.5km four-lane dual carriageway from Simpang Tanah Puteh to Gedong Isthmus, complete with two bridges, an autonomous rail transit reserve and related infrastructure.
With both Section 1B and Section 2 in hand, Pansar’s total contract value under the Serian–Gedong–Samarahan highway project has now reached about RM694.69 million.
The entire highway is approximately 93km, comprising a 19km stretch from Serian to Gedong and a 74km stretch from Gedong to Samarahan.
Pansar’s shares settled one sen or 1.92% higher at 53 sen on Wednesday, valuing the Main Market group at RM261 million.
