KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 9): Scicom (MSC) Bhd (KL:SCICOM) has entered into a partnership with Telekom Malaysia Bhd (KL:TM) to jointly develop AI-enabled customer engagement solutions and digital service delivery platforms.
The collaboration will integrate Scicom’s AI-driven technologies and Business Process Outsourcing capabilities with TM’s infrastructure and customer management operations, according to a joint statement on Tuesday.
According to the two companies, the partnership seeks to enhance customer experience across all channels — including voice, chat, email, and social media — through advanced tools such as conversational bots, predictive analytics, sentiment analysis, and intelligent routing.
TM group chief executive officer Amar Huzaimi Md Deris described the partnership as a key milestone in the group’s ambition to become a digital powerhouse by 2030. “By combining our strengths with Scicom’s, we will future-proof customer engagement through AI-driven innovation and a stronger collaborative ecosystem that supports TM’s long-term growth,” he said.
He added that Unifi customers will benefit from faster response times and improved resolution rates, while enterprise and government clients will gain access to AI-powered customer experience solutions via TM’s subsidiary, VADS Business Process Sdn Bhd.
Calling the partnership a defining moment for both companies, Scicom group CEO Datuk Seri Leo Ariyanayakam said: “By leveraging TM’s nationwide reach and Scicom’s proprietary AI platforms, we are setting a new benchmark for customer management in Malaysia.”
He said Scicom’s in-house technology stack enables intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and scalable customer experience innovation.
In its bourse filing, Scicom said the partnership is expected to contribute positively to its revenue and earnings, though the financial impact remains unquantifiable at this stage due to its variable nature.
At market close on Tuesday, TM shares were up one sen or 0.1% at RM6.97, valuing the group at RM26.75 billion. Scicom was down 1.5 sen or 1.6% at 93 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM330.57 million.
