KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 26): Nestlé (Malaysia) Bhd (KL:NESTLE) has started making NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate at its Sri Muda factory in Shah Alam to meet growing demand for cold coffee in Asia and other regions.
The product will be sold locally and exported to places like Singapore, Oceania, the Middle East, and North Africa, with plans to expand to Asean and Europe.
The coffee comes in bottles made from 100% recycled plastic with eco-friendly caps.
Nestlé Malaysia chief executive officer Juan Aranols said in a statement the new product targets young coffee drinkers and will create more jobs.
The Sri Muda factory, which serves as Nestlé’s regional hub for Ready-to-Drink UHT and rPET products, has received over half a billion ringgit in investments over the past decade. It currently manufactures beverages under the MILO, NESCAFÉ and NESTLÉ OMEGA PLUS brands.
Nestlé Malaysia has spent nearly RM1.5 billion in the last five years to grow its business, including building a new logistics hub in Port Klang (opening in 2026) and upgrading its MILO plant in Chembong and its Batu Tiga facilities.
