KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 19): MyDigital ID will soon be the only way to log in to MyJPJ and MyBayar PDRM, the agency announced.

MyDigital ID, launched in 2016, is a national digital ID system for online transactions in both public and private sectors. It lets users access multiple online services with one password and a single ID, removing the need for different logins. Identity verification is done online by linking to government databases, without storing any personal data.

It currently has over three million users and is integrated with more than 45 online services. The system is managed by My Digital ID Sdn Bhd, an agency under the Prime Minister’s Department. 

In a statement, the company said although users can still log in using passwords for now, they will soon be required to use MyDigital ID exclusively to access MyJPJ and MyBayar PDRM. 

According to media reports, MyJPJ app had 11.5 million users as of January 2025. MyBayar PDRM user numbers were not available.

MyJPJ, developed by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), allows users to check licence eligibility, renew driving licences, and pay summonses. MyBayar PDRM, launched by the police, is used to check and pay traffic summonses online.

MyDigital ID chief executive officer Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim said the single login system will offer simpler, safer, and more transparent digital access. The platform also supports biometric logins via fingerprint or facial recognition for added security and convenience. 

As of July, MyDigital ID is connected to 82 digital systems, including 35 fully operational government platforms.

In July this year, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa told the Dewan Rakyat the government is considering limited, voluntary sign-ups.
