KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 19): Mah Sing Group Bhd (KL:MAHSING) has been appointed by the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) as the lead developer for a new RM52.5 million flyover at the intersection of Jalan Tasik Kesuma and Jalan Semenyih in Bandar Tasik Kesuma.

According to a press statement on Tuesday, the project — which involves 11 developers — was formalised at a signing ceremony held at MPKj’s headquarters and led by Mah Sing’s subsidiaries Mestika Bistari Sdn Bhd, Grand Prestige Development Sdn Bhd and Elite Park Development Sdn Bhd.

Mah Sing group chief executive officer and executive director Datuk Voon Tin Yow represented the company at the ceremony, which was witnessed by MPKj president Nazli Md Taib, deputy president Mohd Fareez Mohd Ariss @ Mohd Hatta and engineering department director Hajah Fadilah Razalli.

The 3km flyover will be accompanied by upgrades to existing roads and junctions along Jalan Semenyih to accommodate increasing traffic volume and improve road safety.

Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2026, with completion targeted for early 2028, after which the infrastructure will be handed over to MPKj.

"We are honoured to have been appointed by MPKj as the lead developer for this important infrastructure project. Mah Sing is committed to delivering the design and coordinating with the relevant parties to ensure smooth execution," Voon said.

"Upon completion, the improved connectivity will facilitate better traffic dispersal, reducing travel times for commuters and enhancing accessibility for residents, businesses, and visitors to the area."

Nazli said the project was first proposed in 2018 in response to population growth in Semenyih, and was revived in 2023 with Mah Sing appointed to lead.

"We appreciate Mah Sing’s commitment in advancing the project and extend our thanks to all participating developers for their cooperation and willingness to share cost amongst the 11 parties involved," he said.
