KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 12): Rhone Ma Holdings Bhd’s (KL:RHONEMA) net profit for the second quarter jumped 27.6% year-on-year, despite a revenue dip, underpinned by lower material costs.
The net profit for the three months ended June 30, 2025 (2QFY2025) increased to RM3.46 million from RM2.71 million, the animal health products maker’s bourse filing on Tuesday showed.
Revenue slipped 2.6% to RM54.98 million compared with RM56.43 million in 2QFY2024, as both the animal health products and equipment segment as well as the food ingredient segment saw marginal dips in contribution.
No dividend was declared for the quarter.
Looking ahead, Rhone Ma noted both the global animal health industry and food ingredient market are poised for sustained growth. To stay ahead of industry shifts, the company said it will prioritise research and development to ensure it offers solutions that meet evolving market demands.
Rhone Ma said the company expanded its capabilities into milk processing with a new contract acquired in July.
Its wholly owned unit Link Ingredients Sdn Bhd secured a RM15.64 million contract from Jemaluang Dairy Valley Sdn Bhd (JDV) for the supply, fabrication, installation and commissioning of a 4,000-litre-per-hour milk processing line at the JDV complex in Mersing, Johor.
“The contract at JDV represents more than just a business milestone, it reflects our role in supporting national initiatives to strengthen local food production and reduce reliance on imports,” Rhone Ma managing director Lim Ban Keong said in a statement.
“By expanding our capabilities into milk processing, we’re not only growing our dairy footprint, but also contributing to the broader ecosystem of sustainable agriculture and long-term food security,” he added.
Shares in Rhone Ma ended half a sen or 0.77% higher at 65.5 sen, valuing the company at RM144.9 million.
