KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 5): XOX Technology Bhd (KL:XOXTECH), formerly known as M3 Technologies (Asia) Bhd, has appointed Mohd Effendi Mat Aris as its new CEO, effective immediately.

According to the mobile solutions and electronic goods retailer’s bourse filing on Tuesday, Mohd Effendi was previously deputy head of the Intelligence Section, Integrated Operations Division at the National Anti-Financial Crime Centre under the Prime Minister’s Department.

The company said Mohd Effendi has also worked in the private sector. His past roles include chief financial officer of My Teakwood Holding, head of financial forensics at Dewan Perniagaan Melayu Malaysia, agency director at Etiqa Takaful and regional finance analyst at Jardines Group.

Mohd Effendi also sits on the board of Heitech Padu Bhd (KL:HTPADU) as a director.

XOX Bhd (KL:XOX) owns a 25.95% stake in XOX Technology. XOX also holds equity interest in Cheetah Holdings Bhd (20.85%), Jadi Imaging Holdings Bhd (21.6%) and Symphony Life (14.84%). 

The largest shareholder of XOX is Datuk Kenneth Vun Yun Liun with an 8.74% stake, held via his vehicle VCAP Global Inc. Other significant shareholders of XOX include Lazarus Securities Pty Ltd with 8.46% and Key Alliance Group Bhd (KL:KGROUP) with 6.34%.

Shares in XOX Technology ended unchanged at 3.5 sen, valuing the company at RM27.45 million.
