KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 4): Morgan Stanley & Co International plc, the second largest shareholder of Focus Dynamics Group Bhd (KL:FOCUS) through pledged shares, has disposed of a 3.14% interest in the company as a result of a margin call.

The bank disposed of 200 million shares, equivalent to a 3.14% stake, in the food and beverage (F&B) outlet operator on July 31, Focus Dynamics’ bourse filing on Monday showed.

Morgan Stanley sold the shares they held as collateral to manage the loan or meet certain requirements. The filing did not disclose the identity of the shareholder who pledged their shares to Morgan Stanley.

The price at which the shares were disposed of was also not disclosed. However, based on Focus Dynamics’ closing price of seven sen on July 31, the block was valued at RM14 million.

On July 29, Morgan Stanley sold 48.2 million shares or a 0.76% stake in the company.

Morgan Stanley’s deemed interest in Focus Dynamics was slashed to 5.73% or 365.25 million shares following the transactions. Prior to the disposals, it held 613.45 million shares or a 9.63% stake.

Focus Dynamics’ largest shareholder is ACE Market-listed Fintec Global Bhd (KL:FINTEC) with a 30.63% stake.

Shares in Focus Dynamics ended unchanged at seven sen on Monday, valuing the company at RM31.86 million.
