<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner>Mimos, the national research and development agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, is responsible for implementing MyDigital, the country’s national digital ID system.</div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner>In a statement on Friday, Mimos said Shukri brings extensive experience in technology innovation and commercialisation. <div class=newsTextDataWrapInner>Shukri joined Mimos in 2010 and has held various leadership roles, including research director and head of strategy, helping guide Mimos in line with Malaysia’s goals for the future. ANZ Research chief economist Sanjay Mathur said in his note just after the September decision that removing the word “appropriate” from the statement suggested BNM was becoming less comfortable with keeping interest rates at current levels.
