KUALA LUMPUR (July 7): NexG Bhd (KL:NEXG), formerly known as Datasonic Group Bhd, has secured various extensions from the Home Ministry relating to its passport and identification card contracts.

A six-month extension was received for its contract to supply raw MyKad, MyTentera, MyPOCA and consumables, carrying an additional contract ceiling of RM29.68 million, NexG said in a bourse filing on Monday.

Its contract to provide maintenance services for card personalisation centres at the National Registration Department received a 14-month extension with an additional contract ceiling of RM15.86 million.

Meanwhile, NexG’s contracts to supply Malaysian passport documents and polycarbonate biodata pages both secured six-month extensions. The company said the extensions carried no changes to the contracts’ ceiling value and did not disclose the value of the extension.

All extensions are to commence effective Dec 1, 2025. NexG is to also furnish various performance bonds to the Home Ministry as per the extensions’ terms.

NexG said the contract extensions are expected to contribute positively to the company’s future earnings.

Shares in NexG ended two sen or 5% higher at 42 sen, valuing the company at RM1.3 billion.
