KUALA LUMPUR (June 25): iCents Group Holdings Bhd, a cleanroom and facility services firm en route to the ACE Market, said it has set up a subsidiary for its international foray in Asia while it is in the midst of opening a new facility in Negeri Sembilan.

Immediate priorities include Indonesia and Singapore, with future plans to explore Australia and Vietnam, iCents managing director Vincent Ong Mum Fei told reporters following its prospectus launch on Wednesday. The company set up a wholly owned subsidiary, Icents Engineering, in January.

However, Ong said they have not started operations and are still in the proposal and tender stage.

iCents is mainly involved in providing cleanroom services, including engineering, procurement, construction, and testing and commissioning of cleanrooms catering to semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, data centres, pharmaceutical, and life sciences sectors.

At home, iCents has less than 5% share in Malaysia’s cleanroom market. The company has an unbilled order book of RM93.21 million, with RM53.53 million tied to cleanroom services and the remainder from its other facility-related contracts.

iCents has seen growing demand from data centre operators and expects further contract wins from the sector, which it has identified as a key growth contributor alongside its semiconductor and pharmaceutical customers, said Ong.

The electrical and electronics industry is “one of our key growth drivers and data centres are also one of the main businesses in the coming years and pharmaceutical as well”, said Ong.

iCents is aiming to open a new facility in Negeri Sembilan by December following its listing on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia next month.

The facility will house new machinery and equipment to increase production capacity, support recruitment of technical manpower and engineers and enhance overall operational capabilities, he noted.
