Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), a rapidly escalating form of digital crime, is a severe concern as children spend more time than ever in digital spaces — gaming platforms, messaging apps and social media. Online threats against children are increasingly worrying, with 2,240 cases of sexual abuse recorded in 2024.
Kempen Internet Selamat (KIS), a national initiative by the Ministry of Communications and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), aims to raise public awareness about online safety and strengthen community capacity to protect themselves and others.
Tackling this issue requires collective action, with parents, educators, communities and platforms working together to raise awareness, strengthen safeguards and drive real action.
