KUALA LUMPUR (June 5): The High Court has set Aug 15, 2025, as the start date for the RM42 million lawsuit filed by SRC International Sdn Bhd and its subsidiary Gandingan Mentari Sdn Bhd against former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Besides the trial starting on Aug 15, judge Datuk Raja Ahmad Mohzanuddin Shah Raja Mohzan has also set 13 other trial dates: Sept 15, 24, 25, 26, and Nov 11, 18, 19, 20, and 24 to 28.
These dates were decided following case management before the judge. Counsel Kwan Will Sen confirmed this to The Edge.

This lawsuit, filed in May 2022, accuses Najib of breach of fiduciary duties, knowing receipt of funds, dishonest assistance, tort of misfeasance and abuse of power in relation to the misappropriation of SRC International funds.
A RM42 million asset-freezing (Mareva) injunction remains in place against Najib, imposed by the High Court in March 2022 and upheld by the Federal Court in October 2023.
Najib has been in jail since Aug 23, 2022, after being convicted of seven charges involving abuse of power, money laundering and criminal breach of trust related to SRC International funds. His original sentence of 12 years and RM210 million fine was reduced to six years and RM50 million after a royal pardon.
This case is one of 25 lawsuits filed by 1MDB and SRC International. Separately, 1MDB has also filed a RM4 billion suit against Najib and former SRC International managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil before the High Court (commercial division), which is still ongoing.
