KUALA LUMPUR (June 4): The 17th edition of the Langkawi Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (Lima 2025) drew to a close on May 24 with RM11 billion in transactions signed over five days.

Co-organised by the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) and Global Exhibitions & Conferences Sdn Bhd (GEC), Lima 2025 welcomed more than 860 companies from 24 countries to celebrate its theme “Innovate Today, Thrive Tomorrow”, making it the most internationally represented edition in Lima’s history.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim kicked-start the exhibition on May 20, while Minister of Defence Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin officiated the closing ceremony.

Over the course of the event, the latest naval and aviation products and services were on display for thousands of trade and public visitors, with nine conferences held to highlight the importance of maritime and aerospace innovation, sustainability and inclusive leadership.

Reflecting on Lima 2025’s success, GEC managing director Abd Hafiz Abu Bakar, in a statement, said: “Success is built on strong pillars — hard work, innovation, learning and unity. By bringing these elements together at Lima 2025, we have created a platform where progress is possible, and opportunities are open to all.”

The 18th edition of Lima is anticipated to take place in 2027.
