
KUALA LUMPUR (May 22): The Ministry of Defence Malaysia (Mindef) signed contracts worth RM11 billion during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (LIMA’25). The agreements included 40 contracts, two letters of intent, and six memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with strategic partners.
In a statement on Thursday, Mindef said key deals included a RM1.8 billion contract with Mildef International Technologies for 136 armoured vehicles, along with various procurement contracts valued between RM10 million and RM30 million.
Mindef also introduced initiatives like the Royal Malaysian Navy’s refit programme for its ageing fleet, collaborations with local companies for technology transfer, and long-range surveillance systems for the Royal Malaysian Air Force. Additionally, Mindef announced plans for a new 94-hectare Armed Forces Hospital in Melaka.
The signing ceremony was officiated by Mindef secretary general Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali and witnessed by key defence officials.
