KUALA LUMPUR (May 19): Engineering precision parts maker CPE Technology Bhd (KL:CPETECH) posted a 71.2% year-on-year rise in net profit for the third quarter, underpinned by higher demand from the semiconductor industry.
Net profit for the three months ended March 31, 2025 (3QFY2025) climbed to RM7.64 million versus RM4.47 million in the same period a year earlier, according to the company’s bourse filing.
Quarterly revenue climbed 52.5% to RM34.22 million from RM22.44 million in 3QFY2024. No dividend was declared for the quarter.
CPE Tech primarily attributed the higher top and bottom lines to increased demand from semiconductor customers. The semiconductor industry accounted for 63.82% of the company’s total quarterly revenue.
For the nine months ended March 31, 2025 (9MFY2025), CPE Tech’s net profit more than doubled to RM20.4 million from RM8.53 million in 9MFY2024, while cumulative revenue rose 44.5% to RM96.71 million versus RM66.92 million previously.
Going forward, CPE Tech said that while underlying long-term drivers for the semiconductor industry remain intact, the US’ tariff barriers have created a more cautious near-term outlook, particularly for US-related businesses.
“We remain vigilant and are actively engaging with our customers to understand their evolving needs. With our flexible operating model and diversified business portfolio, we are well-prepared to navigate the uncertainties ahead and continue to pursue growth opportunities,” it added.
In a separate filing, CPE Tech also announced the appointment of its group chief financial officer Hun Jiang Yann as its executive director, effective July 1. It noted Hun has been with the company since 2013. He was appointed group CFO in 2022.
Shares in CPE ended six sen or 7.95% lower at 69.5 sen, valuing the company at RM463.49 million.
