KUALA LUMPUR (May 8): MNC Wireless Bhd (KL:MNC) announced on Thursday that it had received a formal notice regarding the resignation of its auditor, Chengco PLT, effective immediately.

In a bourse filing, the mobile and digital solutions company said Chengco’s resignation was prompted by uncertainties concerning the registration status with the Audit Oversight Board (AOB) of the Securities Commission Malaysia, which has affected its manpower and resources planning.

MNC added that it is not aware of any matters that require immediate attention or action from the company’s shareholders. Chengco was re-appointed as MNC’s auditor at its Oct 29 annual general meeting.

MNC shares were last traded at 7.5 sen, giving it a market value of RM17.83 million.

On Tuesday, YGL Convergence Bhd (KL:YGL) also announced the resignation of Chengco as its auditor, following the suspension of the latter’s registration by the AOB, which prohibits the firm from conducting audits of public interest entities and scheduled funds.
