KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): Desaru Coast, the premier coastal destination in Johor, said it has teamed up with ONE°15 Marina, a unit of Singapore-listed SUTL Enterprise Ltd, to operate both wet and dry berths at the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal.
In a statement, Desaru Coast said the collaboration with ONE°15 Marina will not only bring premium berthing facilities to the destination, but also introduce a suite of curated sailing experiences such as private yacht charters and sailing events tailored for leisure travellers and the growing regional yachting community.
“This partnership is the manifestation of the strong bilateral cooperation between Singapore and Johor with the impending Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and demonstrates investor confidence in Desaru Coast,” said Karina Ridzuan, director of business services at Destination Resorts and Hotels Sdn Bhd, the parent company of Desaru Ferry Sdn Bhd, which owns and operates the ferry terminal.
“We are delighted to partner with the esteemed ONE°15 Marina to introduce premium marina facilities and curated sailing experiences at the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal,” she added.
The collaboration, part of an initiative to enhance Desaru Coast's marine tourism and lifestyle offerings, was announced during the Singapore Yachting Festival 2025 at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove recently.
Karina said the new ONE°15 Marina Desaru Coast Malaysia is poised to catalyse the marine and leisure economy, placing Desaru Coast on the global yachting map and attracting yacht owners, club members and experienced boaters in search of new sailing destinations.
For guests arriving by sea, the partnership transforms Desaru Coast from a mere port of entry into an integrated destination offering world-class attractions, including luxury beachfront resorts, award-winning golf courses, one of the world’s largest waterparks and the annual Ombak Festival, which celebrates arts, music and culture.
“We look forward to welcoming the yachting community to experience Ombak Festival with us this year. Ombak Festival 2025 guests will be some of the first groups to sample the newly-launched ONE°15 Marina in Desaru Coast, adding a new wave of excitement to The Ultimate Weekend,” Karina added.
SUTL Enterprise executive director and CEO Arthur Tay said the expansion of the ONE°15 brand into Desaru reflects a shared vision to deliver unique experiences to boaters and yachting enthusiasts across Asia.
“I’m excited about our partnership with Desaru Coast as we welcome a new marina personality into the growing ONE°15 network of marinas across Asia. My vision is to deliver unique experiences that enrich our community of members, boaters, and yachting enthusiasts across the region,” Tay said.
As the marine leisure economy in Southeast Asia continues to grow, Desaru Coast said its tie-up with ONE°15 Marina positions it to tap into a rising tide of regional yacht tourism, offering both infrastructure and immersive experiences that appeal to high-value international travellers.
