KUALA LUMPUR (April 23): foodpanda will cease its operations in Thailand next month after more than a decade of losses, local newspaper The Nation reported on Wednesday citing the food delivery platform social media post.

The Thai operations will cease on May 23, 2025, the newspaper reported citing the company’s Thai language post. foodpanda was reported as saying that Thailand’s current market conditions no longer align with the company’s long-term strategy.

Delivery Hero SE, the Germany-based owner of foodpanda, confirmed the exit to The Nation.

foodpanda has been suffering losses in Thailand for 13 years, the newspaper reported. Delivery Hero will now concentrate its resources on other Asia Pacific markets that offer greater growth potential and higher returns, The Nation added.

In Malaysia, foodpanda has over 400 employees, 50,000 riders, and 100,000 partners, according to its website. The company also has a shared service centre that supports 11 countries in 10 languages, with over 1,500 internal and 4,000 outsourced employees.
