KUALA LUMPUR (April 7): Automated test equipment (ATE) firm Aemulus Holdings Bhd (KL:AEMULUS) said it is to develop new test equipment with Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co Ltd (Semco).

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was inked between Aemulus’ wholly-owned Aemulus Corp Sdn Bhd (ACSB) and Semco, where the pair will collaborate to jointly develop a new silicon capacitor test system guided by Semco’s latest silicon capacitor technology roadmap.

Once the new silicon capacitor test system has been developed, ACSB is to manufacture and exclusively sell it to Semco from April 2025 to March 2027.

ACSB is only allowed to sell the new test equipment to third parties two years after Semco’s first purchase.

“Semco shall upon commencement of the MOU provide ACSB with a non-binding detailed comprehensive two-year forecast for the test equipment and may buy the test equipment from ACSB in accordance with terms and conditions stipulated in the purchase order issued by Semco.

“This forecast shall be submitted on a regular basis (every three to six months) and updated periodically by Semco to reflect any changes in market demand, production needs, or strategic priorities,” it added.

Shares in Aemulus closed down three sen or 13.95% to 18.5 sen, valuing the ACE Market-listed company at RM121.46 million. The counter has fallen by 38% since the start of the year.
