KUALA LUMPUR (March 28): Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has added 12 entities to its Financial Consumer Alert (FCA) list.
The list warns the public about companies and websites that are not authorised or approved under financial regulations administered by the central bank.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), BNM said the latest additions are Versa Investment (not related to Versa Asia Sdn Bhd), Master Binary, Master Binary Trade, Master Binary Options, Binary Options, Binary Options FX, Sejahtera Invest, Sahabat Invest, Tengku Forex, Global Asia FX, Bold Prime, and Fokiyoks.
“Please be informed that the latest updates on Invest KL Malaysia (not related to InvestKL), HSBC Bank Investment (not related to HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd), and Headway are also available in the FCA list,” it said.
BNM added that the list is not exhaustive, and will be updated regularly.
On its website, the central bank said the FCA list is updated based on information received from the public after conducting necessary assessments on the reported entities and schemes.
“Consumers may refer to the FCA list as one of several ways to check if an entity or a scheme has been identified as one that has not been authorised by BNM to offer financial products or services that are regulated by BNM,” it said.
BNM further said that the absence or subsequent removal of an entity or scheme from the list should not be construed as confirmation that it is or has been licensed or regulated by BNM.
“As with any financial investment, consumers are advised to exercise due care when investing in any entity or financial scheme,” BNM said.
