KUALA LUMPUR (March 28): Puspakom Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned unit of DRB-Hicom Bhd (KL:DRBHCOM), announced on Friday that it is raising prices of its mobile van and mobile truck services amid rising operating costs.
The daily charge for mobile truck services will be increased by RM300 to RM3,300 for the first 50km, while mobile van service fees for the first 50km will rise by 20% to RM120 per unit. The rate adjustments will take effect on April 1, Puspakom said in a statement.
"The change is in line with the increase in the operational costs of our Mobile Services,” Puspakom’s chief executive officer Mahmood Razak Bahman said in a statement. “However, the vehicle inspection fee remains unchanged.”
Puspakom’s mobile truck services provide inspections for companies with large fleets, such as commercial vehicle operators, freight forwarding companies, driving schools, and vehicle dealers.
Meanwhile, its mobile van services cater to private vehicle owners, offering inspections for ownership transfers, expired road tax renewals, and imported vehicle registrations.
There is no change in prices for customers who bring their vehicles to Puspakom branches.
The last review of service charges was conducted in 2007, the company said. Mahmood Razak said the adjustments were made after a thorough study to ensure the sustainability of its mobile services for the benefit of customers.
