Infrastructure and engineering company Jati Tinggi Group Bhd has clinched a RM48.38 million contract from Tenaga Nasional Bhd via its unit Jati Tinggi Holdings Sdn Bhd to establish 275KV bulk supply connection to a data centre in Johor.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 27): Infrastructure and engineering company Jati Tinggi Group Bhd (KL:JTGROUP) has secured a RM48.38 million contract from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KL:TENAGA) to develop power supply links for a data centre in Johor.

Jati Tinggi said its wholly owned Jati Tinggi Holdings Sdn Bhd (JTHSB) had received the letter of acceptance (LOA) from the utility group following a tender for the job to establish 275KV bulk supply connection to the data centre via interim supply.

The project includes the supply, installation and testing of underground power cables, overhead transmission lines, substations, high-voltage equipment, and lightning protection, Jati Tinggi said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Thursday.

The project is scheduled for completion within 270 days.

JTHSB is required to submit performance security within 56 days of the LOA date and purchase all necessary insurance before work commences.

This contract marks the group’s second job announcement this year. In January, JTHSB secured a RM25.5 million contract from TNB to lay underground double-circuit cables for a data centre in Selangor.

Jati Tinggi closed half a sen or 1.41% higher at 36 sen on Thursday, valuing the group at RM139.1 million. The counter has lost over 32% year-to-date.
