KUALA LUMPUR (March 27): Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT), the pension fund for the Malaysian Armed Forces, has declared a seven-year high dividend of 5.25% for 2024.

The dividend amounted to a total distribution of RM514.2 million — also the highest payout in seven years. The dividend, which represents a payout of 87.5% of the fund's net profit, will be credited to its 125,014 contributors’ accounts on Friday.

The performance is a testament to the strength of the domestic economy, given that the fund’s investments are 100% domestic, LTAT chief executive officer Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi said at a briefing.

Going forward, Mohammad Ashraf said the fund’s priority is to accelerate restructuring efforts and rebalancing its portfolio, particularly addressing overconcentration risks.

“Proceeds from our investments will be strategically allocated into liquid assets, ensuring LTAT aligns with global best practices in fund management,” he said.

Net profit climbed 24% to RM587.5 million, with total income expanding 2.5% to RM752.6 million in 2024.

Assets under management rose about 4% to RM13.6 billion. The combined reserves surged 161% to RM1.01 billion, the third consecutive year of the fund's reserves more than doubling.
