KUALA LUMPUR (March 26): China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd (CCC-ECRL) has honoured 18 local vendors, including consultants and subcontractors, with the Excellence Award 2024, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the East Coast Rail Link project (ECRL).
In a statement on Wednesday, CCC-ECRL said the award, now in its fifth year, continues to highlight the critical role of local industry players in supporting the ECRL’s development.
“This year’s recipients continued to demonstrate exceptional performance in key areas, such as health, safety, and environment (HSE) management, quality assurance, project execution, and resource efficiency,” it said.
CCC-ECRL managing director Kong Qi said the award is not just a recognition of the vendors’ efforts but also a testament to the strong partnerships the company has built in delivering this national infrastructure project.
“The success of the ECRL project is a result of the unwavering commitment of our local partners.
“Their expertise, resilience, and adherence to high industry standards have been instrumental in driving progress,” he said.
The ECRL project, spanning 665 kilometres from Kota Bharu, Kelantan, to Port Klang, Selangor, has achieved 79.95% overall progress as of February, and it will further accelerate to meet the completion target in 2027.
Over the years, CCC-ECRL has forged strong partnerships with more than 2,000 subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants across Malaysia, contributing to the success of this landmark infrastructure development.
“CCC-ECRL remains dedicated to building strong partnerships with Malaysian vendors, driving local industry growth, and ensuring the successful delivery of the ECRL project.
“Through these collaborations, the company continues to create economic opportunities across the East Coast region, while strengthening Malaysia’s railway infrastructure for the future,” it added.
