Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh said vocational colleges to date have produced 93,094 diploma graduates, surpassing the Ministry of Education’s target of 90,000 under the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 19): A total of 93,094 diploma graduates have been produced by vocational colleges (KV) to date, exceeding the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) target of 90,000 under the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025.

Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh said this achievement was complemented by a steady rise in graduate employability.

“The employability rate of KV diploma graduates has shown continuous growth — 99.16% in 2022, 99.38% in 2023, and 99.91% for the 2024 cohort,” he said during the question-and-answer session in the Dewan Negara.

He was responding to Senator Datuk Nelson W Angang, who had requested details on the outcomes of the ministry’s education reform efforts.

Wong added that in terms of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the MOE has introduced various measures to align TVET programmes with industry needs.

“These efforts include expanding TVET access to different student groups, such as allowing Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia school leavers to enrol in diploma programmes at Vocational Colleges,” he said.
