KUALA LUMPUR (March 17): Advance Information Marketing Bhd's (KL:AIM) executive director Datuk Chong Loong Men has stepped down from the role just one week after his appointment, due to personal reasons, the company said on Monday.

Chong, who was appointed as the business process outsourcing company's executive director on March 10, resigned due to personal reasons, according to a bourse filing.

On March 10, Chong had also been appointed as a non-independent director of Erdasan Group Bhd (KL:ERDASAN), formerly known as AT Systematization Bhd.

Chong, 46, began his career at the Attorney General's Chambers as a deputy public prosecutor, and is currently a practising lawyer.

He currently owns 30.53 million shares or a 7.82% stake in AIM. Additionally, he owns 43.75 million shares or a 3.48% stake in BTM Resources Bhd (KL:BTM), and 18.75 million shares or a 2.56% stake in Sersol Bhd (KL:SERSOL).

AIM on Monday also announced the resignation of non-executive chairman Datuk Lim Siang Chai and independent non-executive director Choong Mun Kit, also due to personal reasons.

In their stead, Lim Choo Hooi has been appointed as an independent non-executive director and Chou Sing Hoan has assumed the role of executive director. Meanwhile, Noorliza Ismail has joined as an independent director.

AIM has recorded losses in nine of the past 10 financial years. For the year ended Dec 31, 2024, AIM's net loss expanded to RM6.54 million from RM3.84 million in the previous year, despite a 14.2% increase in revenue to RM4.03 million from RM3.53 million.

In January, the company proposed a share capital reduction of RM32 million to offset its accumulated losses.

AIM shares closed at 6.5 sen on Monday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM25.36 million.
