DNB, Ericsson form partnership to drive digital transformation via '5G-Advanced' technology

KUALA LUMPUR (March 6): Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) and Ericsson on Thursday announced a strategic partnership to accelerate Malaysia’s digital transformation through 5G and 5G-Advanced technology.

It said in a joint statement that the collaboration aims to support Malaysia’s ambition to become a global digital leader, while driving economic growth and innovation across multiple industries.

"Formalised through a memorandum of understanding, the partnership will focus on advancing enterprise digitalisation, enhancing connectivity and fostering innovation.

"By expanding 5G and 5G-Advanced coverage, DNB and Ericsson seek to strengthen Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and enable real-world applications of the technology," it said.

According to the statement, the collaboration will enhance 5G Advanced connectivity in industrial zones and strategic areas, supporting enterprise digitalisation.

The partnership will also foster innovation by expanding the global application programming interface network ecosystem, which would enable developers to integrate functionalities from other applications, simplifying and accelerating the development process.

DNB and Ericsson’s partnership is reportedly set to play a crucial role in Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to embrace digitalisation and further enhance connectivity.

"By expanding 5G-Advanced capabilities and fostering collaboration across industries, this initiative will empower local businesses to innovate, adapt and thrive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

"As 5G-Advanced technology continues to expand, it will serve as a catalyst for industry digitalisation, national competitiveness and enhanced quality of life for all Malaysians," it added.
