GENTING HIGHLANDS (March 6): Tropicana Corp Bhd (KL:TROP) has unveiled its latest integrated development, Breeze Hill Shoppes and Service Apartments (Breeze Hill) in Genting Highlands, Pahang, via a groundbreaking ceremony at its site in Gohtong Jaya on Thursday.
The developer has appointed China State Construction Engineering Malaysia (CSCEM) as the main contractor for this project. Bentong District and Land Office officer Datuk Mohammad Shahid Ismail served as the guest of honour at the ceremony.
Located on a 6.7-acre freehold tract, Breeze Hill has a gross development value (GDV) of RM1.4 billion, and is a part of the Tropicana Avalon township.
Together with Tropicana Grandhill and Tropicana Paradise, the three townships are components of the 596-acre Tropicana WindCity master plan.
The Breeze Hill Service Apartments, which is the residential component of Breeze Hill, will comprise two 27-storey towers with 1,722 fully-furnished serviced apartment units, with a GDV of RM1.1 billion.
The units come in three layout types, from studio to three-bedroom units with built ups ranging from 430-976 sq ft. The indicative price of the units will start from RM400,000.
Meanwhile, there will be a 26,000-sq ft facilities podium with over 40 facilities for the residents.
As for the commercial component, Breeze Hill Shoppes will consist of 90 shop units across two levels beneath the residential towers. With a GDV of RM250 million, the shop units will have built ups ranging from 959-3,470 sq ft. Prices for the shops start from RM1.1 million.
According to Tropicana, the project is targeted to launch in April for the residential component, while the commercial units are targeted to launch by 2Q2025.
“We could not ask for a better location here in Gohtong Jaya. This area serves as the gateway to Genting Highlands, and many developments have been mushrooming around the area. We are confident that this project will appeal to a wider audience, from investors [and] business owners, to lifestyle-seeking purchasers,” said Tropicana Corp group chief executive officer Datuk Mark Rozario in his speech, during the groundbreaking ceremony.
He added that property prices here in Gohtong Jaya are catching up to those in Kuala Lumpur, while rental yields are at about 7% to 8% per annum, being one of the highest in the area.
In his keynote address, Mohammad Shahid said he believes the Breeze Hill project will bring value and enhance the economic and social development of the community here, while further solidifying Genting Highlands as a world-class holiday destination.
